There is much to learn from the Christmas story, but maybe more than anything is that the birth of the Messiah was an invitation to respond. Every person in the Christmas story that met Jesus couldn’t help but stand in awe and respond in worship. Whether it was the shepherds, the family, or the wise men (as we’ll learn in this week’s message), worship was a natural response to this moment of awe. That’s because moments of awe produce hearts of worship!
In this week’s message, Pastor Ricky Ortiz looks at the Christmas story through the lens of the wise men (or magi) found in Matthew 2. We’ll see that these men traveled a great distance to meet this newborn Messiah and they came prepared to worship. And as we’ll discover, worship requires two things from each of us: faith and sacrifice.
