Have you ever felt like the step of faith that God is asking you to take is taking it too far? Like what He’s asking you to do requires too much or what He’s having you go through crosses the line?

Whether it’s cancer, death, poverty, grief, or something different, it seems like God is willing to use anything and everything to tests your faith and stretch you. All throughout the Old and New Testaments, God tests the faith of His children to gauge how strong their faith is. It’s not that God delights in using those types of things, but He’s definitely willing to use them to test our faith.

In Genesis 22:1-14, we find an example of this very thing. After 25 years of waiting for God’s promise of a son to be fulfilled, Abraham and Sarah finally have their child of promise, Isaac. But, shockingly, God calls on Abraham to take Isaac up to Mt. Moriah and sacrifice him on an altar. This sounds crazy!!

But Abraham, being ever filled with faith, follows God’s instruction, trusting that God would provide the proper sacrifice. In this week’s message, Pastor Ricky Ortiz uses this passage from Genesis to help us understand what this reveals about God, what it reveals about Abraham, and, ultimately, what it reveals about us.
