WHO I WAS

I WAS LOST

“Jesus said to him, ‘Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.’” – Luke 19:9-10

I WAS A SINNER

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” – Romans 3:23

I WAS SEPARATED FROM GOD

“But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.”– Isaiah 59:2

I WAS CONDEMNED

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 6:23

I WAS HOPELESS

“Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope.” – 1 Thessalonians 4:13

I WAS IN DARKNESS

“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light.” – Ephesians 5:8

WHAT JESUS DID

HE DIED ON THE CROSS

“When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals—one on his right, the other on his left.” – Luke 23:33
WHY HE DID IT
“For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit.” – 1 Peter 3:18
WHAT IT DID
“He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.” – 1 John 2:2

WHAT IT MEANS

WE ARE FREE

“But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.” – Romans 6:22
WE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE
“I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.” – John 10:28

WHO I AM NOW

I AM REDEEMED

“In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.” – Ephesians 1:7
I AM HEALED
“’He himself bore our sins’ in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; ‘by his wounds you have been healed.’” – 1 Peter 2:24
I AM NEW
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” – 2 Corinthians 5:17
I AM CLEAN
“Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.” – Isaiah 1:18
I AM A CHILD OF GOD
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” – 1 John 3:1
I AM LOVED
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8

WHAT DO I DO NOW?

READ HIS WORD

“For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.” – Romans 15:4
PRAY AND TALK TO GOD
“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” – Colossians 4:2
FOLLOW THE HOLY SPIRIT
“Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.” – Romans 8:5
BE TOGETHER WITH OTHER BELIEVERS
“Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” – Acts 1:46-47
FOLLOW GOD’S WORD
“If you love me, keep my commands.” – John 14:15
KEEP GOING, EVEN WHEN IT GETS TOUGH
“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” – Matthew 7:13-14
