Come serve with our Vicinity Impact Team this August as we partner with the Washington Houses Community at their annual Back To School Party in East Harlem, NY!
We’re serving children and families in need by providing FREE backpacks and school supplies so they can begin the school year with a great start. And we’re looking for volunteers who want to help Give, Pack, and/or Serve throughout the month of August so we can make this event a meaningful success.
Our goal is to provide at least 100 children with a new backpack and all of their school supplies –notebooks, lined paper, folders, pens, pencils, and anything else they need – to start the school year!

Here are 2 ways you can be involved:
1. Serve
- Saturday, August 3rd @ 11am – Be a part of the team that purchases the backpacks and school supplies needed.
- Sunday, August 18th from 6-8pm – Help us pack the backpacks with all of the school supplies.
- Sunday, August 25th between 1-7pm – Be a part of the team that helps serve at the Back To School Party at the Washington Houses
- On Your Own – Be a part of the team that writes encouraging note cards that will be placed in each child’s backpack.
2. Give
- Every $50 given gives us the ability to provide 1 student with a new backpack complete with notebooks, pencils, pens, folders, and more.
