Whether you’re new to Meta Church or you’ve been around for a little while, chances are you’re interested in ways to get involved and stay connected to make the most of your experience at Meta.

We think that’s great for two reasons:

First, getting involved in the life of our church is one of the best ways to connect with others, grow spiritually, and use your gifts to make an impact.

Second, our church is at its best and healthiest when people like you are involved!

So with that in mind, we think there are five great ways to get started at Meta Church: Events, Serving, Giving, Groups, and Sermons. We’ve written a little more about each one below so click or scroll down to the area that interests you.

5 Ways to Get Connected at Meta Church

1. Attend an Upcoming Event

One of the easiest and quickest ways to get involved at Meta is to participate in an upcoming event. All of our upcoming events are listed online and are updated frequently throughout the month. For those who are newer to Meta, events are a great way to meet other people in the church get connected without the pressures of commitment or responsibility.

Some events are more social and recreational in nature, while others are more spiritual and formational in nature. Some events are for women, some are for men, and most are are for everyone. So no matter who you are, where you find yourself on your faith journey, there is likely to be an upcoming event where you can jump in and get connected!

2. Sign Up to Serve on a Team

One of the most fulfilling and impactful ways to get involved is by serving. Not only does serving allow you to be a key part of what God is doing through Meta Church, it’s also an awesome way to meet people. You’ll be part of a great team working toward a unified mission. Serving Teams turn into small groups which turn into real friendships very quickly.

Without our incredible volunteers and Serve Teams, we wouldn’t be able to do all the things we do or make the impact we desire to make. Here are some of the areas/ways you can get involved:

  • Sunday Teams: Connections & Hospitality, Meta Kids, and Production
  • Creative Teams: Photography, Video & Storytelling
  • Vicinity Impact Team: Community Service opportunities in our neighborhood
Most of our volunteers serve between 1-2x/month and in an area they are passionate about. Just email hello@metachurch.cc and let us know you’d like to begin serving and we’ll help you find the right spot depending on what works with your availability and passion!
3. Start Giving
We’re a church that believes that believes in “holding nothing back” when it comes to our finances. We believe God has withheld nothing from us, so we look for opportunities to give back to Him. Our ethos here at Meta Church is that we don’t HAVE to give – we GET to give as an act of worship! Giving is a way of putting God first in our lives and believing He will take our generosity and multiply it to make an impact.

4. Join a Group

They say the church is not a building but the people and that couldn’t be more true! At Meta, we cultivate deep community through Meta Groups that meet across the city. These groups don’t just study the Bible together – they truly do life together. In fact, the two primary purposes of our groups is to (a) cultivate connection and (b) provide care for everyone involved. Meta Groups are a place to build close friendships, process life’s joys and struggles, pray for one another, and grow as disciples and followers of Jesus.

Our Groups meet every-other-week and run on a seasonal calendar starting in the Fall and then again at the start of the new year. You can visit our Groups Page and use the group finder tool makes it easy to search for groups based on your location, day/time preference, life stage, and interests. 5. Stay Up-To-Date on Weekly Sermons

Finally, while gathering each Sunday for worship is just the beginning… We place top priority on your spiritual growth and transformation, that’s why we work hard to provide relevant, applicable, and biblical preaching at Meta Church on a weekly basis. Our goal is for every person to engage with the Scriptures in a fresh way each week through our sermons.

You can subscribe to our YouTube Channel to access our full sermon archive and dig into any past series. Or if you prefer audio podcasts, make sure you’re subscribed to Meta Church NYC on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to your favorite podcasts so you never miss a week!
