“Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?” – Romans 8:32
Imagine the unthinkable for just a moment…
Imagine that you have sacrificed your own child to pay the wrongdoings of a group of people. You’ve done the impossible and offered something that no parent would ever want to do. Some of these people will accept your gift while others will reject it. Maybe worst of all, some will receive the sacrifice you’ve offered, but they’ll take it for granted or not appreciate it fully.
After you’ve done this–given up your one and only child for someone else–do you think you’d be willing to give that person or those people even more??
That’s probably an easy and quick “NO!” You might even those some expletives in front of the “no” just for dramatic emphasis.
Yet this is exactly what Paul says God has done, is doing, and will do for you!
Not only has He given up His Son, but He’s fully prepared to give you even more! God is so lavish in His generosity that He does not stop just because He has already offered up His Son. According to Romans 8:32, God is fully prepared and committed to giving you even more. In fact, Paul’s exact words say that God will “give us everything else.”
This means all you could ever need, God is prepared to supply. He didn’t even spare His own Son, and He’s not willing to spare anything else for you.
